First off the vine!
This is our first Cantaloupe off the vine this year! I went out to check on its progress yesterday, only to find that it had already fallen off the plant, yellow and ready to eat. I think it is going to be enjoyed for supper tonight.
They told me it was really sweet and wonderful. I look forward to being home for the next one off of the vine. My granddaddy used to grow yellow watermelons...I haven't seen one in years. Aren't you loving the fresh fruit?
oh, yes! the pineapples are the sweetest, juiciest ever...and i can get a large one for about .60 cents! i've decided that it's the cheapest fruit available here. the mango and the papaya are also fabulously yummy!
yum! how was the cantaloupe? we had sweet YELLOW watermelon for lunch today! wish i could say it came from our garden...(!)

ReplyDeletelooks lovely, I'm sure it's tasty =)
ReplyDeleteI used to support my trellised melons by making them little hammocks out of old pantyhose. Looked funny but worked well.
